MUM AIAI Emotional Support Experience
Mum AI is an AI chatbot that role-played a carrying mother, leaning into the AI’s empathic and neutral training to hold space for anyone needing a mother figure. I created this project as a way to heal and sooth emotional wounds in a nurturing and nourish way. Mum AI is custom GPT, prompted to perform maternal warmth and unconditional support. It raises questions that no amount of technical specification can fully resolve: about what emotional labour is, who provides it, and what it means when a machine does it instead. Many users reached out after the Telegraph article to share they had experienced unconditional love through this machine.
